Dr. Kaylin Jolivette
MD, DipABLM
Internal & Lifestyle Medicine and Women’s Health Specialist in Mariemont, OH
Dr. Kalyn Jolivette is an Internal Medicine physician and Lifestyle Medicine specialist who provides comprehensive primary care for adults. She has particular interests in cardiometabolic health, women’s health, and chronic disease management, with an emphasis on using evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine alongside conventional medical care.
She earned her medical degree from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati. As her interest in the role of lifestyle in health and chronic disease grew, she pursued additional training and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
Before moving into primary care, Dr. Jolivette spent eight years practicing hospital medicine in both academic and community settings. She cared for adults across a broad range of illness, including patients with complex and critical conditions. Those years gave her a deep respect for what modern medicine can do when someone is sick. They also shaped her interest in what happens much earlier—when there is still an opportunity to prevent disease, reduce risk, or change its course.
"I spent eight years in hospital medicine caring for people once they were already very sick. That experience taught me to respect what modern medicine can do — and it's exactly why I care so much about the years before that point, when there's still room to change the course of someone's health. I want my patients to leave every visit with a clear plan and the sense that we built it together."
— Dr. Kaylin Jolivette, MD, DipABLM
That perspective carries into the way she practices primary care today. Dr. Jolivette looks at the full picture of a person’s health, using diagnostic testing and medical therapies when appropriate while also paying close attention to nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and other factors that influence health over time. She believes lifestyle interventions can play an important role not only in prevention, but also in the treatment and management of chronic disease.
Just as important is the relationship she builds with her patients. She believes good medical decisions begin with listening, clear explanations, and honest conversations about the options available. Her goal is to understand what matters to each patient and make decisions together that are both grounded in evidence and meaningful for that person’s life.
Teaching has remained an important part of her career. Dr. Jolivette previously served on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and now holds a voluntary faculty appointment with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where she teaches medical students and helps supervise care through its student-run free clinic.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Jolivette is an avid endurance and trail runner and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter. That part of her life also shapes how she thinks about health. To her, being healthy is not an end in itself. It is what allows us to keep doing the things we value, experience our lives more fully, and be present for the people who matter most.
