Dr. Marci Nelson
MD, MSCP
Family Medicine & Women's Health in Shoreline, WA
Dr. Marci Nelson is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner based in Edmonds, WA, and a founding provider at Trillium Concierge Medicine. As a Ms.Medicine Affiliate, she brings more than two decades of clinical experience caring for whole families — from newborns through end of life — with a specialized focus on women's midlife health and menopause care that is both evidence-based and deeply personal.
Dr. Nelson's path to medicine was not a straight line. She studied Political Science and International Relations at UCLA, lived and worked abroad, and found her way into medicine through a mentor — a family doctor who modeled what it actually means to know your patients and be known by them. That relationship shaped everything. She completed her medical training at UCSD and her residency at Swedish Family Medicine in Seattle, where she has practiced ever since. She has been continuously board-certified in Family Medicine since 2004 and earned her MSCP certification in 2024, driven in part by her own experience navigating menopause and her belief that this chapter of a woman's life is vastly underserved by conventional care.
Patients describe Dr. Nelson as a good listener who goes beyond the surface — someone who takes the time to understand what is actually going on, not just what's on the chart. She connects easily with people from all walks of life, informed by years of international travel and her own ongoing work to manage her health and stay active. She goes above and beyond, not as a professional habit, but because she genuinely believes that knowing a patient in the full context of their life is how you get to answers that actually hold.
"It is a profound privilege to be invited into my patients' lives and to be trusted with their most private details. I protect and nourish that relationship, building trust and deepening the connection over time.”
— Dr. Marci Nelson, MD, MSCP
Outside of the office, Dr. Nelson weight lifts, mountain bikes, and backpacks — and brings the same commitment to staying active to nearly every patient conversation. She is an avid traveler, a home cook focused on eating well, and someone who values the particular kind of medicine you practice when you stay genuinely curious about the world.
Through her work with Ms.Medicine, Dr. Nelson joins a national network of clinicians dedicated to advancing women's healthcare through evidence-based, relationship-driven, and time-rich medical care.
