Dr. Anna Rusk
MD
Family Medicine & Obesity Medicine in Frisco, TX
Dr. Anna Rusk, MD, is a family medicine physician at Clover Family Medicine in Frisco, TX, with board certification in both family medicine and obesity medicine. As part of a Ms.Medicine Affiliate practice, she cares for patients from early childhood on. She focuses especially on weight management, metabolic health, and the changes that come with menopause.
Dr. Rusk wanted work where she could see she was helping people, and she liked the challenge of medicine. Her interest started early, with an eye condition she had as a child that resolved as she grew. It grew as her sisters went into medicine and as her father went through cancer treatment while she was in high school and college. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and her medical degree from the Texas A&M College of Medicine. She then completed her family medicine residency at John Peter Smith in Fort Worth. During residency, she saw how many of the conditions treated in primary care improve with weight management, and that led her to certification in obesity medicine. Over the years, she has also come to enjoy helping women through menopause. Before joining Clover, she practiced at Hope Clinic of McKinney.
Patients most often tell Dr. Rusk that she takes the time to listen and doesn't dismiss their concerns. She'll often dig further than previous doctors have to find an answer. She believes every person is different, and that much of what shapes someone's health isn't obvious at first. So she gets to know each patient, talks through the diagnostic and treatment options, and asks what they prefer before they decide together. Concierge medicine gives her more time to do that and to know each patient well.
"Every patient is different, and so much of what affects health isn't visible at first. I take the time to listen, get to know you, and find the approach that fits you."
