Maggie Theriot

Maggie Theriot, DNP, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Signature Health by Robin Bone, MD in Metairie, LA. As part of a Ms.Medicine Affiliate practice, she cares for women through every stage of adulthood, with particular interest in PCOS, fertility and preconception planning, weight management, hormonal changes, and preventive and metabolic health.

No single moment pointed Maggie toward women's health. It came from years of caring for patients and noticing which relationships stayed with her. She started in nursing, then earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans. During nurse practitioner training she worked with Dr. Robin Bone and took to the way Dr. Bone practiced: listen first, look past the complaint on the chart, and get to know the woman in the room. After graduating, Maggie spent three and a half years as Dr. Bone's nurse practitioner at Ochsner, caring for women across a wide range of gynecologic and reproductive needs. Joining her again at Signature Health picks that partnership right back up.

Patients find Maggie easy to talk to. She wants them to bring up the questions they'd normally be too embarrassed to ask, and she explains her reasoning in plain language, even when the answer is reassurance. Her care is thorough and collaborative, and every plan has to fit the patient's real life. She doesn't buy the idea that feeling tired or "not like yourself" is simply the cost of being busy, postpartum, or getting older. Some changes come with life transitions, but that's no reason to wave symptoms off.
